LSRFUR Take up the Whistle Wed 20/9/17, 27/9/17 19:00 - 21:30 Twickenham RFC This course runs over 2 nights. Attendance on both nights is required to complete the course.


Since 2016-17 season, LSRFUR has introduced a centralised training programme, with sessions held every 6 or so weeks in each Region, on a set of topics agreed prior to the season.
Members are free to attend each session in any region - the sessions will be the same at each Regional Meeting so that members are able to attend a different region should they be unable to attend the meeting on their usual night.

External Training

In addition to the ongoing and continuous training of its members, the renowned LSRFUR Trainers, also run a number of public courses throughout the year, in a number of different locations. These courses are aimed at introducing individuals, or groups, to the art of refereeing, or developing skills that non-members may have.

Course Title Description
LSRFUR Take up the Whistle The purpose of this course is to encourage people to take up refereeing rugby union. The Course includes an Introduction to refereeing the 15 a-side game of rugby union. Elements of the game will be highlighted and how to referee them. Candidates will receive a whistle, lanyard and red/yellow cards. The Course includes outdoor/on-field elements so suitable clothing is required. Successful candidates will receive a certificate on completion
