After a successful two weeks when 18 young players took the London Society “take up the Whistle” course at Ealing Trailfinders RFC, showing a lot of enthusiasm and a plenty of loud whistles, we are continuing to develop our young match officials. One highlight has been two of our young match officials, Martha and Rowan, going to referee at the Rosslyn Park National school sevens on Friday the 22nd of March. With a bit of help from a young match official from Surrey they thoroughly enjoyed the day despite a rather damp start in the morning, each refereeing six games. Lots of learning during the day from how to deal with the breakdown efficiently to dealing with over enthusiastic coaches and parents all under the support of the referees present. They worked hard all day and deserve plenty of plaudits for their composure throughout. We are extremely proud of them.
